Vintage American Girl Barbie Doll had bendable legs and a glamorous new hair style. Her official name was Bendable Leg Barbie when she was sold by Mattel, but collectors have long since named her "American Girl."

Markings on head rim: Body Markings: The markings were presented in three different ways. The first dolls from 1965 had everything indented. In 1966 the "Made in Japan" was raised. The later 1966 dolls were all raised. An identifiable way to tell where in the cycle your doll was made. |
